Funding Partners
Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA) of the Government of the Northwest Territories provides base funding through the Western Canada Lottery Program (WCLP) to NWT Soccer. The funding supports the administration of the sport across the Northwest Territories - growing the development of grassroots to high performance players, coaches, leaders, and volunteers.
More than 125,000 Northwestel northerners are working and playing in communities across all three territories and in northern BC & AB. Northwestel looks for opportunities to give back because they live here too.
Northwestel partners with non-profit organizations and initiatives to help build a stronger North. Through the partnership opportunity with Northwestel, NWT Soccer is able to deliver the Northwestel Outdoor Summer Camp.
The Community Development Grant from Canadian Tire Jumpstart provides funding to help build capacity to provide more inclusive, equitable, safe sport participant experiences.
Kidsport Northwest Territories provides funds for all children of low income homes who wish to play sports.
NWT Soccer has partnered with KidSport to help distribute soccer equipment to communities across the territory. This partnership is helping grow our sport and ensure that soccer equipment is accessible.
Sport North provides several Grants, including Player Assistance, Board Development, and Facility Enhancement. These grants empower NWT Soccer to expand its capabilities, promoting more inclusive, equitable, and secure sporting experiences for all participants.
NWT Soccer has partnered with the Aboriginal Sports Circle NWT to offer coach training and workshops.
Through the Indigenous Coaching Development Program (ICDP), NWT Soccer has been able to offer Grassroots Coach Education Training, C & B Diplma Coach Education Training, as well as provide mentorship opportunities for Indigenous coaches.
We thank MACA, Northwestel, Canadian Tire Jumpstart, KidSport, Sport North, and the Aboriginal Sport Circle of NWT for their contribution and support to our membership in the North. Our Association is committed to building strong, healthy communities and relationships through sport.
