2024-07-05NWT Soccer announces the 2025 Canada Summer Games Soccer Coaching Staff
Yellowknife, NT – We are pleased to announce the coaching staff who will be leading our Female and Male Soccer teams to the 2025 Canada Summer Games (CSG) in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador.
Female Team
Co-Head Coach: Tonya Huck
Co-Head Coach: Gina Williams
Team Manager: Defny Torindo
Male Team
Head Coach: Isaac Ayiku
Assistant Coach: Dillon Torindo
Apprentice Coach: Bronwyn Rutherford-Simon
Team Manager: Knox Makumbe
The teams will be led by a group of highly experienced and dedicated coaches who are committed to fostering soccer talent in the Northwest Territories. These coaches bring a wealth of knowledge in strategic game planning, player development, and team building, ensuring that the athletes are well-prepared for the challenges of the competition.
The coaching staff's primary focus will be on implementing training programs and creating a supportive and motivating environment for the players. With an emphasis on both individual skills and team cohesion, the coaches aim to enhance the athletes' performance and competitiveness.
One of two selection camps will start on July 5-7, 2024. The second camp taking place from August 23-25, 2024. Athletes can register for both or either weekend. No team announcements or selections will happen until after the second camp.
We look forward to the collaborative effort with our coaching teams over the coming months as we prepare for the 2025 Canada Summer Games.
