NWT SOCCER SEEKING A MANAGER FOR 2023 NAIG U19 MALE SOCCER TEAM

The NWT Soccer Association (NWT Soccer), in collaboration with its partners and members, strives to foster positive change in the lives of residents of the Northwest Territories.  
 
NWT Soccer is working to offer sustainable territory-wide programs and services for members to succeed in soccer and futsal.
 
Position Overview 
Selecting the appropriate coaching staff is the first step to ensure that Team NT players get the most out of their experience at the 2023 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG).
 
The 2023 NAIG Coaching Staff are responsible for identification, selection and development of their respective 2023 NAIG Teams.
 
Position Criteria

• Current member of the NWT Soccer in good standing
• Completion of the following online courses:
  • Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
  • Making Ethical Decisions Evaluation
  • Making Headway E-Learning (Soccer Specific)
  • Emergency Action Plan
  • Safe Sport Training
• Courses must be completed no later than ninety (90) days before the opening of the Games 
• Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector check (contact your local RCMP for details) – to be supplied with application
• Must be above the age of 18
• Valid passport or intention to acquire one (if applicable)
• Demonstrable knowledge of the game 

In selecting NAIG Coaching Staff, NWT Soccer may consider assessments of current and past coaching/managing performance, feedback received from club, community, and Team NT programs.
 
Duties of the Manager

• Act as an appropriate role model and chaperone, as identified by NWT Soccer’s and ASCNWT’s policies and procedures, at all times on and off the field
• Be prepared to work as a team with their coaching colleagues in the lead-up to and during NAIG, attending all meetings where required
• Being prepared for present and focused at all selection camps
• Attending meetings where applicable
• Ensuring communication with athletes, parents and NWT Soccer is prompt and effective
• Maintaining confidentiality of all evaluation forms and transferring them to NWT Soccer
• Coordinating fundraising initiatives and managing the team’s budget

Managers Need to be Available on the following date(s):

• July 15-23, 2023
