NWT SOCCER LAUNCHES 2021-2024 STRATEGIC PLAN
2021-05-14Dear Members,
We are excited to share our new Strategic Plan effective 2021-2024 with you!
The development of the strategic plan was led by Lara Schroeder with Spark Solutions. The process included reviewing the previous strategic plan, membership feedback from survey as well as ensuring we were aligned with Canada Soccer. Engagement included surveying of clubs, players, coaches, referees, volunteers, parents, NWT Soccer Staff, Board Members and Committee Members. The development process started in August of 2019 and was a thorough process over the last six (6) months.
Guided by our plan, our efforts will focus on:
DEVELOP– Develop players, coaches, officials and clubs through clear pathways.
GOVERN – Demonstrate strong governance, making the game safe, fair and welcoming.
GROW – Build territory-wide capacity and community.
The NWT Soccer’s Vision is to Foster positive change in the lives of residents of the Northwest Territories. Our most recent strategic plan will achieve this by “offering sustainable territory-wide programs and services for members to succeed in soccer and futsal”.
As you will notice, the NWT Soccer Association (NWT Soccer) staff and board have a lot of work cut out for them. We have big goals for growing the quality and accessibility of the sport over the next three years and beyond.
Although we live in a vast and diverse territory, NWT Soccer is committed to developing players, coaches, and officials and supporting access to soccer and futsal in all NWT communities. Off to a great start, we are now offering summer soccer camps in the communities of Yellowknife, Hay River, and Fort Smith, and continue to support the development of new clubs in new communities.
As we continue to build territory-wide capacity and community within the sport of soccer and futsal, we encourage all players, referees, coaches, and communities to work together with us.
Together with you—our members, we aim to grow the game in a way that reflects NWT people, communities, and values.
The Strategic Plan will be presented at our 2021 Annual General Meeting on Saturday June 5th. This will be an opportunity for us to take a deeper dive into the plan and to answer any questions from our membership.
Thank you for your continued dedication and collaboration as we further our mission to offer sustainable territory-wide programs and services for members to succeed in soccer and futsal.
