Dear Members,
I'm thrilled to tell you about an important step forward for our organization as we embark on a new three-year funding agreement this month.
NWT Soccer is delighted to announce the employment of Lyric Sandhals as its first full-time executive director.
As you may know, Lyric has been at the heart of NWT Soccer for years as a part-time employee. Up till now, we have shared her time with Sport North, NWT Volleyball and NWT Snowboarding.
In an exciting change for our sport, Lyric is now dedicated solely to NWT Soccer with immediate effect.
I am proud and grateful that we have been able to secure the services of such a dedicated, professional and talented executive director. Lyric is already an exceptional asset to, and ambassador for, our sport at both territorial and national level.
This move to full-time staffing would not be possible without a significant three-year funding commitment and wholehearted support from the GNWT's Department of Municipal and Community Affairs. I'd also like to recognize the key contribution of NWT Soccer's treasurer, Connie Lee, in successfully concluding this agreement.
Full-time staffing means a lot:
- Extra support for our programs, clubs and leagues
- More time dedicated to evaluating and improving the services we offer
- Quicker responses to your queries and requests
- More scope for the introduction of new programs and initiatives
Lyric's office address remains unchanged. Please expect an update regarding email and phone contact information in the near future.
If you have any comments or questions, you can reach me at any time by emailing nwtsa.president@gmail.com or calling (867) 688-0105.
Lyric will continue to assist the sports of snowboarding and volleyball, with our wholehearted support, as they make the transition to new staffing arrangements. We thank our partner sports for their support and collaboration in recent years and look forward to working with them in the future.
Thanks to you, our members, for your continued support and participation in our sport. We're excited to grow, improve, and make your experience the best it can be.
